So today I’m reading about how an engineer that worked for Apple lost the latest and greatest Apple iPhone. Apparently he was celebrating his 27th birthday at a bar where he left the prototype. Ultimately gizmodo.com got hold of the device after buying it from the person that ended up with the phone. I’m really amazed at how Apple would have allowed something like this to happen. I wonder if maybe they allowed it to happen so that all of the publicity generated would kick start their next generation of the phone? I mean they have been at this for several years now and maybe the iPhone following has started to drop a little with Google and others marching in to claim their stake on the cell phone market. It will be interesting to see how this impacts the next iPhone release. Will it be for the better or for worse? Only time will tell.
